WESTLAKE LC265.1V
June 2005—The Westlake Audio (www.westlakeaudio.com) Lc265.1V ($5,275/pair) is a passive three-way design with dual 6.5-inch woofers, a 5-inch midrange and coaxial 1-inch dome tweeter. The Lc265.1V employs dual ports and includes the company's Iso-Back dual-path, integrated passive crossover for single or bi-amp operation. Designed for stereo and multichannel monitoring (a horizontal center-channel version is available), the Lc265.1V is fully mag-shielded. Response is rated at 42 to 18k Hz (±3 dB). Inputs include two dual banana/five-way binding posts.

WESTLAKE BBSM-6 UPDATE
December 2003—Westlake Audio offers an upgraded version of its three-way, passive near-field BBSM-6, which features two new 6.5-inch LF drivers, a new 3.5-inch midrange and a 1-inch HF driver. These drivers mount in a totally redesigned cabinet with turbulence-reducing port buffers and a new midrange trim ring.

WESTLAKE BBSM-6 RETURN
November 2002—Big news from last month's AES: the return of Westlake Audio's classic BBSM-6 monitors. Back by popular demand after a five-year absence, the updated BBSM-6s are an all-cone, three-way design with dual 6.5-inch polypropylene woofers and—in a separate, sealed, nonresonant sub enclosure—a 3.5-inch midrange and 1-inch dome tweeter. Features include a rear panel input strip for bi-amp/bi-wiring connections, a precision 60-component crossover, video shielding and Westlake's proprietary Super Flex silicon jacketed/laser-etched internal driver wiring. The 68-pound, front-ported enclosure measures 11x22x13 inches (HxWxD), and frequency response is rated at 60 to 20k Hz. Retail: $4,997 each.

WESTLAKE LC24.75
October 2002—This two-way, bass-reflex loudspeaker for center channel and low-profile stereo and multichannel applications has a compact, dual-ported enclosure with twin 4-inch woofers and a 1/4-inch soft-dome tweeter. Frequency response: 65-20k Hz, ±3 dB with a sensitivity of 89 dB/1m for 2.83V input. The Lc24.75 features extensive electro-mechanical and acoustical dampening, point-to-point wiring and magnetically shielded drivers. Available individually or in pairs. Price: $999/each.

WESTLAKE SURROUND SYSTEMS
December 2001—One of many custom surround installations by Westlake Audio includes a BBSM/Lc8.1 system for Greg Ladanyi at Tidal Wave. In this system, two-way passive BBSM-5 monitors ($1,497.50 each) are used for the five surround channels with a Lc8.1SW subwoofer ($4,795 each) holding down the low end. The BBSM-5s are phase-coincident, low-distortion monitors that each include two 5-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter; frequency response is 55 to 20k Hz. Incorporating steep-slope crossovers, the BBSM Series monitors can be ordered in bi-wired or passive bi-amplification modes. The passive Lc8.1SW subwoofer stands 27 inches tall by 14 inches wide, contains two 100-inch woofers, weighs 100 pounds and features a 34 to 18k Hz frequency response.

WESTLAKE LC265.1
March 1999—New from Westlake Audio is the Lc265.1 ($1,347 each), a dedicated center-channel speaker system. This three-way design uses dual 6.5-inch woofers with a 5-inch midrange and a 1-inch coaxial tweeter, and its passive crossover gives the option of bi-amp or bi-wire operation. Response is rated at 48 to 18k Hz. The speaker can be used either as a center channel with other Westlake systems or five Lc265.1s can be used as satellites in a surround system paired with a sub system such as the 8.1SW ($4,250). Westlake has also unveiled a matching subwoofer, the BB10SWP, for use with its larger BBSM10 monitors.
