JBL LSR6300 SERIES
June 2005—The JBL LSR6300 Series combines patented transducer technologies with Room Mode Correction (RMC) circuitry to correct inaccuracies caused by room acoustics. All models in the series are THX pm3-approved. Priced at $399 each, the compact LSR6325P has a 5.25-inch woofer, a 1-inch titanium composite tweeter and 150W of amplification. The LSR6328P ($1,339 each) uses JBL's 8-inch differential drive carbon-fiber woofer and a 1-inch titanium composite tweeter for a 50 to 20k Hz response. The bi-amplified system outputs 250W (LF) and 120W (HF) amps. The optional LSR6312SP powered subwoofer ($1,499) uses a 12-inch Neodymium Differential Drive (NDD) woofer with 250W of power. An integral bass-management system provides LCR and direct LFE inputs, multiple subwoofer summed output, RMC and more. If a larger monitor is required, the non-powered, three-way LSR6332 ($1,399 each) combines a 12-inch NDD dual-coil woofer, a 5-inch Kevlar midrange and a 1-inch titanium composite tweeter. Frequency response is 60 to 22k Hz, with LF extension to 35 Hz.
JBL LSR6325P
November 2004—The LSR6325P Studio Monitor provides ultra-accurate response and exceptional SPL capability in a compact form factor. The system incorporates features to minimize the detrimental effect on response caused by the acoustic properties of the room, making it ideal for stereo and surround recording, post-production and broadcast systems. The LSR6325P Studio Monitor combines JBL's latest transducer and system technologies with LSR (Linear Spatial Reference) design to provide greater accuracy at the mix position. Retail: $399.
JBL LSR6300 SERIES
July 2004—The innovative LSR6300 Series of studio monitors from JBL Professional includes two 5.1 monitoring packages: the LSR25P/5.1 ($3,315) and the LSR6328P/5.1 ($7,775). The LSR25P/5.1 kit includes five compact, bi-amplified LSR25P reference monitors—each featuring a 5.25-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter—and a 250W LSR6312SP powered subwoofer. The LSR25P has 100W of low-frequency power and 50W of high-frequency power, while the LSR6312SP sub features a 12-inch woofer and a full feature set designed for multichannel audio production. Offering the same subwoofer as the LSR25P/5.1, the LSR6328P/5.1 kit includes five bi-amplified LSR6328P monitors featuring 8-inch woofers and 1-inch tweeters. The THX-approved LSR6300 Series boasts three new technologies to overcome problems associated with sub-par room acoustics: Linear Spatial Reference, RMC Room Mode Correction and boundary compensation. Insuring that the mid- and high-frequency content at the mix position is accurate, JBL's Linear Spatial Reference technology includes a ±30-degree horizontal, ±15-degree vertical radiated response engineered into the system, which also happens to be virtually flat. RMC combats low-frequency standing waves by including a circuit in LSR6300 Series subwoofers; once calibrated, low-end performance improves at the mix position. Finally, boundary-compensation circuitry is included in the LSR25P and LSR6328P to correct frequency response and overcome spectral shift when the system is mounted on a wall, in corners or on workstation surfaces.
JBL LSR6328P & LSR25P
December 2003—JBL Professional has just announced its latest active near-field monitors: the LSR6328P and the LSR25P. The LSR6328P sports an 8-inch LF driver supplied with 250 watts and a 1-inch HF driver powered by a 120W amp. One important distinction is the Room Mode Correction (RMC) system included with the LSR6328Ps, which enables precise tuning to the listening environment. A powered sub is optional. The LSR25P features a 5.25-inch LF driver and 1-inch HF driver with 150 watts of power.
JBL LSR6312SP SUBWOOFER
December 2003—JBL Professional introduced its LSR6312SP active sub, intended to complement the new LSR6328P near-fields. A 260W Class-A/B amplifier powers the 12-inch LF driver. JBL's Room Mode Correction system is included, enabling precision tuning of the monitors within the environment. Its response is 28 Hz to 80 Hz.TO READ THE REVIEW, CLICK HERE.
JBL LSR6332
December 2003—JBL Professional's LSR6332 is a two-way system with a 12-inch LF driver, 5-inch mid driver and 1-inch HF driver. The published frequency response is 60 to 22k Hz, and 35 Hz is represented at 10 down with the 12-inch LF driver. These monitors can be paired with JBL's LSR6312SP subwoofer.
JBL LSR28P SURROUND PACKAGE
December 2001—JBL offers a complete 5.1 monitoring system ($7,174) based on the TEC Award-winning bi-amplified LSR28P monitor ($1,179 each) and the LSR12P subwoofer ($1,279). Incorporating JBL's proprietary Linear Spatial Reference (LSR) technology, the LSR28P includes an 8-inch low-frequency transducer and a 1-inch tweeter. An active crossover system feeds into 250W and 120W amps for low and high frequencies, respectively. A notable feature of the system is JBL's Differential Drive technology, which ises two voice coils in each driver and a third coil to act as a dynamic brake at maximum excursion, reducing audible distortion and doubling power handling. Frequency response range is 50 to 20k Hz (+1, -1.5 dB), and the LSR28P can reproduce peaks greater than 111 dB SPL at 1 meter. The LSR12P powered sub offers a 28 to 80Hz frequency response range (-6 dB). The internal amp provides 250W continuous. Additional features include multivoltage capability and a choice of input levels for -10dBv and +4dBu operation.TO READ THE REVIEW, CLICK HERE.
