ADAM SUB7 SUBWOOFER
February 2010—The Sub7 ($550) subwoofer from ADAM Audio is designed for use with ADAM's A5 self-powered desktop monitors. It comes in matte-black, piano-black and piano-white finishes; and is equipped with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA I/O connectors. Other features include a polarity switch, 85Hz highpass filter and a wireless remote control for adjusting both the volume and the crossover frequency from the sweet spot.

October 2009—ADAM Audio's (www.adam-audio.com) S Series steps up the evolutionary ladder with a new name and new components. The SX Series comprises six models ranging from small near-fields to larger mid-field models, all with redesigned transducers, drivers and electronics, promising the most transparent reproduction possible. The monitors feature the new X-ART tweeter, offering 4dB higher efficiency, 3dB greater max SPLs and expanded bandwidth to 50 kHz. Also new is an ultralow-distortion, broadband Class-A/B amplifier with 1MHz internal bandwidth and Hexacone™ woofers for more linear excursion. Prices (each) range from $1,295 (two-way, 5-inch woofer) to $4,795 (three-way, dual 9-inch woofers).

October 2006—The A7 combines ADAM’s A.R.T (Accelerated Ribbon Technology) folded-ribbon tweeter with a 6.5-inch carbon-fiber woofer, resulting in an extremely accurate monitor. Powered by two 50W amplifiers, the front panel features a power switch and detented volume knob, while the rear houses controls for tweeter, HF/LF shelving filters, and balanced (XLR) and unbalanced RCA connectors. ADAM AUDIO SUB8
October 2006—The Sub8 subwoofer is designed to extend the low end of any near-field monitoring system. It houses an 8-inch woofer with a large 50mm voice coil, and is driven by a 160W ICE power amp. The front baffle features two remote-controlled motorized knobs that allow the user to tailor level and crossover frequency without leaving the listening position. The unit also provides an onboard 2.1 bass-management system.

May 2006—ADAM monitors have earned their share of fans during the years with the A.R.T. folded-ribbon tweeter technology and precise imaging. Now, ADAM offers the A7, a 100W bi-amplified system that pairs the same tweeter with a 6.5-inch woofer for a low $999/pair. An optional 160W Sub8 subwoofer with wireless remote control is $699.
ADAM AUDIO SYSTEM 1-10
October 2005—ADAM’s System 110 combines the diminutive S1A monitor with its popular Sub-10 subwoofer offering a 25 to 35k Hz frequency response. A bass-management section in the sub adjusts the crossover point for almost any listening environment. The subwoofer ensures deep low-end reproduction, while the S1A satellite adds ADAM’s signature A.R.T. folded-ribbon driver, yielding a smooth, clear top end complemented by tight, accurate mids and low-mids from its 6-inch Hexacone driver. ADAM AUDIO S4V-A MARK II
October 2005—Priced the same as the original S4V-A, the Mark II mid-field model has a bigger bass driver (12-inch instead of 11-inch) than the older model and replaces the folded-ribbon midrange unit with a 6-inch Hexacone driver. In addition, the HF and MF power amps have been increased from 150W to 250W, and the bass amp has been increased from 300W to 500W. Price: $8,250/pair.
ADAM AUDIO P33-A
June 2005—The ADAM Audio P33-A ($3,200/pair street) is a three-way active design offering the advantages of the company's mirrored S3-A design at a lower price point. Like the S3-A, one woofer acts as a full-range driver; the second joins it below 150 Hz, providing solid low-end response. Usable horizontally or vertically, the P33-A is shielded and has three 100-watt amps. ADAM AUDIO P33-A
November 2004—These offer the advantages of ADAM's unique mirrored S3-A design at a lower price. One woofer acts as a full-range driver with the second woofer joining it only below 150Hz for exceptional low end without compromising midrange performance. The P33-A is mag-shielded, has three onboard 100W amps and can b eused either horizontally or vertically. Response is 34 Hz to 35k Hz.
ADAM MONITORS
June 2004—ADAM unveiled three new monitors at the recent Musikmesse show in Frankfurt. The ANF-10 ($700, pictured) is a passive monitor designed to please those looking for a replacement for the soon-extinct Yamaha NS-10M. Also announced was the ADAM APPLE ($1,450), a slick-looking, all-aluminum small monitor designed for close-field DAW applications. The Apple's 5-inch woofer and ART tweeter are juiced by two 50W amplifiers; inputs are XLR, 1⁄4-inch combo and RCA unbalanced. Last, but certainly not least, is the P33a ($2,950) with P Series woofers and three 100W amplifiers.
ADAM AUDIO S5V-A
October 2003—The S5V-A is a new vertically oriented, four-way monitor designed for high-level recording and mastering facilities. It features the ADAM folded-ribbon tweeter and midrange units, each powered by discrete 150W amplifiers and two Hexacone woofers: one 9-inch for the low mids and one 12.5-inch for deep bass, driven by 150W discrete and 500W digital amplifiers, respectively. The S5V-A makes a perfect component for the most demanding surround mixing and mastering applications.
ADAM S2.5 & SV4
November 2002—Available in both powered and unpowered versions, the ADAM Audio 2.5s and SV4s are designed for stereo and multichannel applications. The S2.5 includes an 8-inch woofer and an A.R.T. (Accelerated Ribbon Transducer) HF driver and handles 120 watts RMS. The powered version of the S2.5, the S2.5-A, drives each component with separate 100W amps. S2.5 frequency response is 38 to 35k Hz, and the S2.5-A dips lower to 24 Hz. The larger three-way SV4 and SV4-A add an A.R.T. midrange and an 11-inch woofer. The SV4 handles 150W of program power; the SV4-A has three separate 100W amps. The SV4 has a stated response of 32 to 35k Hz, and the powered SV4-A brings the bottom end down to 28 Hz.
ADAM AUDIO MASTERING PIECE MP-1
October 2002—The ADAM MP-1 ($20,000/pair) is a state-of-the-art, no-compromise powered monitor designed for the most demanding mastering engineers and applications. Deep bass (down to 23 Hz) is supplied by a side-firing 12-inch Hexacone woofer powered by a 400W amp. Ceramic cones provide exceptionally tight low mids from 80 to 600 Hz, where the A.R.T folded-ribbon midrange and tweeters take over, delivering unprecedented sonic precision and a breathtaking 3-D image.

October 2002—The S2.5A ($3,300/pair) is a two-way studio monitor incorporating ADAM's proprietary A.R.T. folded-ribbon tweeter, providing an amazingly lifelike, detailed image. It features an 8-inch Hexacone woofer consisting of a honeycomb core coated with Kevlar on both sides, allowing for extremely deep and tight bass response. The monitors are powered by two 150W amplifiers, and are ideally suited for small to medium control rooms and film post-production or broadcast studios.

October 2002—The S4V ($6,500/pair) is a three-way studio monitor with a vertical orientation that provides optimal time alignment and extremely precise imaging. It uses ADAM's proprietary A.R.T. folded-ribbon tweeter and midrange drivers, resulting in incredible sonic detail. Low end is supplied by an 11-inch Hexacone woofer for tight, accurate bass response down to 28 Hz. Power is supplied by three 150W amps. They are ideally suited for mid-field stereo and surround mixing and mastering applications.
ADAM P-SERIES MONITORS
June 2002—The ADAM P-Series powered Analytical Monitors from McCave International Inc. are designed for professional project studios, broadcast facilities and post-production facilities. Featuring the proprietary ADAM folded-ribbon HF driver, the new line of powered monitors includes the P11-A, the P22-A (pictured) and a matching powered subwoofer, the Sub-P. ADAM folded-ribbon technology is designed to provide a nearly 3:1 advantage in terms of effective diaphragm area, and a 4:1 improvement in transient air-pressure rise time when compared with conventional voice coil, electrostatic or magneto-static transducers. The result is significantly greater precision in imaging and high-frequency detail. Prices for the P-Series units are: P11-A, $1,895 per pair; P22-A, $2,495 per pair; and Sub-P, $1,695/each.
ADAM ASM-3
December 2001—ADAM offers the ASM-3 Surround Monitoring System ($10,995). Comprising five S3-A active near/mid-field speakers and the company's Sub-1 active subwoofer, the ASM-3 surround system is developed in Germany under the direction of Klaus Heinz. Based on Heinz's work with Dr. Oskar Heil, inventor of the modern ribbon transducer (Heil Air-Motion Transducer), the three-way S3-A includes A.D.A.M.'s proprietary ribbon technology to produce transients to 35 kHz. Each S3-A monitor includes three 100-watt amps and can be oriented horizontally or vertically. The Sub-1 subwoofer has dual 10-inch drivers driven by a 200W amp. Max system SPL exceeds 122 dB (at 1 meter) down to 25 Hz.
