MERGING TECHNOLOGIES PYRAMIX 6
September 2007—Pyramix 6, a 48-channel DSD recording system from Merging Technologies (www.merging.com), takes another step forward with the new Ramses controller and Oasis I/O boxes, offering DSD and DXD recording with optional mic preamps. The multiformat Ramses MSC is a fully integrated record, editing, processing and fully automated mixing system that's scalable from 16 to 256 I/O channels and tracks in eight to 24 (plus dual-operator, 48-channel) configurations, with full static or dynamic automation of all parameters, including joystick surround panning control. Full support of VST plug-ins on all channels and buses are standard, as is support for sample rates from 44.1 to 384 kHz, plus 48-channel DSD and DXD options. Also available is Merging's VCube and VCube SE standard/HD video integration. Another Ramses option is a version of Smart AV's (www.smartav.net) ARC™ technology for instant access to large numbers of channels. Current Pyramix owners can upgrade their systems to Ramses MSC, incorporating their existing Merging hardware.

MERGING TECHNOLOGIES PYRAMIX 6
June 2007—Merging Technologies gave us a sneak peak of Pyramix 6—the first-ever, 48-channel DSD recording system. Merging also showed the new, sharp-looking Ramses controller with its Oasis I/O boxes that offer DSD and DXD recording with optional mic preamps in the box. It all speaks back to Pyramix via MADI.

MERGING RAMSES MSC CONSOLE
May 2007—Developed with Smart AV, Merging Technologies unveils the Ramses (priced per configuration) MSC digital console featuring 256 channel/tracks. A Pyramix system running the MassCore engine lets users control up to five workstations from a single surface. Essentially a digital console integrated into a large multitrack recorder/editor, MSC offers modes for post and live multitracking. It's scalable from 16 to 256 channels with up to 256 buses, and offers an integrated 48-channel DSD/DXD system. Ramses will still use Merging's Mykerinos and I/O hardware and will be offered as a stand-alone workstation or as an upgrade for existing users.
