LAWO MC256 CONSOLE
July 2008—Lawo (www.lawo.de) has released a new addition to its mc2 Series consoles. The mc256 (price depends on size configuration) features the Lawo HD core with up to 512 DSP channels, 144 summing buses and a routing capacity of up to 8,192 crosspoints. The mc256 supports complete cross-compatibility with the mc2 Series, including the transfer of snapshots, as well as dynamic automation and networking with other Lawo products. The redesigned control surface relegates rarely used functions to the touchscreen graphical user interface. Every 16-fader bay offers fully featured metering on a high-resolution TFT display. It comes in frame sizes from 32 to 80 faders and special flight-case versions, making the console's small footprint suitable for remote applications where space is tight.

LAWO MC256
June 2008—Lawo brought out the mc˛56, a new member of the mc˛ Series offering full mc˛ performance in a reduced surface with compact dimensions. The mc˛56 offers the Lawo HD core with up to 512 DSP channels, 144 summing buses and a routing capacity of up to 8,192 crosspoints. The complete functionality of the mc˛ Series is available, including the transfer of snapshots within the mc˛ family and dynamic automation and networking with other Lawo products.

LAWO ZIRKON 2.8
April 2008—Lawo's Zircon on-air radio console now features significant enhancements to its system control and configuration software, as well as its VisTool touchscreen-surface visualization software. A new Sig80 DSP mode supports an additional 40 DSP channels (mono/stereo) with EQ, dynamics and limiting via a second master board. Performance and communication have been improved by using UDP (User Datagram Protocol) rather than TCP. Because UDP avoids the system overhead of checking every last data packet, metering response is faster and provides greater compatibility in networked environments. The VisTools software upgrade lets users display 24 channels simultaneously, with the ability to set EQ parameter and marker colors.

LAWO MC290
September 2007—Lawo is now shipping its mc290 digital console, which is designed to take the technology of the mc266 mixer to a new level. The mc290 has a redesigned user interface and integrates Lawo's Star2 topology, providing total console redundancy in no-fail environments. Compatible with both consoles, V. 1.10 software provides improved sequence automation; 10 new DSP configurations; the ability to meter up to eight VCA-slaved channels controlled by a single fader (ideal for surround stems, etc.); more frequency points for EQ, filter and sidechain filter modules; full MIDI Machine Control remote access; a choice of MTC, LTC, Sony 9-Pin TC or internal timecode slaving; and more.

LAWO PLUG-IN HOST
September 2007—Also new is Lawo Plug-In Host (LPH), a low-latency PC host app that assigns tielines for the triggered plug-ins to the mc2 HD Core that automatically appear on the GUI matrix screen. The console imports plug-in parameters in the same way as console-based EQ or dynamics parameters are assigned, and plug-in settings can be stored either statically using snapshots or dynamically with the automation data.

LAWO MC290
January 2007—Lawo's MC290 digital console features a user-definable center section that lets users hot-swap the control modules to fit their needs, along with the ability to accommodate up to five rackspaces of outboard gear into the meter bridge or the control surface. Central control functions can be transferred to anywhere on the desk. And if you've got the jitters about down time, Lawo's Double Star Technology makes redundancy ubiquitous for live and broadcast operation.

LAWO MC290
October 2006—Designed to take the technology of Lawo’s mc266 mixer to a new level, the mc290 digital console has a redesigned graphical layout and user interface. It integrates Lawo’s Star2 topology, providing total console redundancy in no-fail environments. The mc290 modular design can be adapted for various applications.

LAWO MC290
September 2006—Launched at AES Paris, Lawo's mc290 digital console takes the technology of its mc266 mixer to a new level with a redesigned graphical layout and user interface. The mc290 incorporates a modular design that can be adapted for various applications and integrates Lawo's Star2 topology, providing total redundancy in no-fail environments such as broadcast, remote recording, theater and live.

LAWO MC290
July 2006—Lawo's much-anticipated mc290 digital console has a new GUI and user interface. It's aimed at no-fail applications, such as remotes, live performance and on-air.

LAWO NOVA ROUTERS
October 2005—The Nova73 HD router has a capacity of up to 8,192 mono channels with ports for MADI, ATM and AES3. Additional formats and decentralized interfaces can be provided. It features hot-pluggable configuration changes while running; 96 kHz; Dolby-E compatibility; clock-synchronous switching to video frames; and integrated signal processing. For smaller installs, the Nova17 universal matrix acts as a format converter or MADI breakout, with 384-channel capacity, integrated signal processing and freely programmable logic.

LAWO MC2 66
September 2005—Lawo’s mc2 66 digital mixing system comprises a mixing surface with integrated control system, HD Core DSP and routing matrix, and DALLIS audio I/O. Control surface size may be configured via 8-fader modules with systems from 16 + 8 faders to 48 + 8 faders, controlling up to 192 DSP channels and 144 mix buses. All console surface modules are “star-linked” to the control system so that configuration may be changed during operation without unwanted noise or data loss. Audio processing is performed at 48 or 96 kHz, with 24-bit resolution and 40-bit internal processing. Each input channel offers dynamics with look-ahead function, delay, insert, panning up to 7.1 and 32 aux sends. The DALLIS modular I/O system can be loaded with any combination of mic/line, AES, serial or SDI interface boards and up to 80 I/O per system. Comprehensive snapshot options store control panel assignments, DSP settings, matrix routing and I/O parameters.

LAWO MC2 66 SOFTWARE
June 2005—Lawo demoed new software for its MC2 66 broadcast/production console. The update adds a new, easy-to-use bus assign page and a slick sequence automation page that makes cue management a breeze and is ideal for theater snapshot tweaking, even during a show.

LAWO MC2 66
November 2004—The Lawo mc2 66 is a compact, mid-sized mixing console with an integrated 30722 matrix and a maximum of 192 fully equipped channels and 144 summing buses. The system can be configured for broadcast, production and recording, and is fitted with 72 faders max. Signal processing for surround 7.1 and 96 kHz completes the system. Comprehensive control functions include Ethernet, Sony 9-pin, MIDI and GPI. More features include parallel IT track summing, integrated monitoring and console split with doubled PFL/AFL summing and isolated bank/layer switching, extended audio-follows-video, external control via Ethernet for remote control of the console and integrated matrix. Retail: $120,000.

LAWO NOVA 73 HD
