EUPHONIX CONTROLLER
November 2002—Steinberg (www.steinberg.net) raised eyebrows with the Euphonix console in its booth acting as the world’s biggest hardware controller for Nuendo, thanks to the Euphonix TransferStation, which translates R-1-formatted files to AES31 file format, retaining all edits, crossfades and vital time-stamped information within a multitrack session. Not so coincidentally, Euphonix and Steinberg announced a strategic relationship to develop integrated professional audio products for the music and audio post-production markets.
EUPHONIX SYSTEM 5 V.2.6 SOFTWARE
October 2002—Euphonix will demonstrate Version 2.6 software for System 5. More than 100 System 5 consoles have been sold worldwide. This high-performance, 24-bit/96kHz digital audio mixing system comprises a control surface, digital-processing core, digital and analog interfaces and eMix system-management software. The control surface follows traditional conventions and layout, so learning/use of the console is much easier. Effects returns include the same number of buses, aux sends, EQ, filters and dynamics—all processed at 40-bit.
EUPHONIX MAX AIR
June 2002—The 96-channel Max Air from Euphonix shares the technology of the company's award-winning System 5 flagship, such as an integral MADI router, touchscreen control, onboard diagnostics and a wide range of I/O options—MADI, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, TDIF, ADAT, Pro Digi and Pro Tools digital.
EUPHONIX E-DECK SOFTWARE
June 2001—Euphonix has released E-deck and Listen-In software applications. E-deck allows mix files to be recorded, encoded and uploaded to a secure server on the Internet. Anyone with the appropriate password can download and play the mix files, including 5.1 DVD-A mixes at full 24-bit/96kHz resolution. Final mixes also can be moved directly to a record label for archiving and manufacturing. The Windows 98/2000-compatible application accommodates a range of connection speeds, including compressed files suitable for transmission over dial-up or DSL lines, or uncompressed files for distribution over T1 or T3 lines. (Lower connection speeds are managed by Windows Media Audio compression.) E-deck also controls the Listen-In function, which allows remote monitoring of a live studio session in progress through password-protected software. E-deck/Listen-In will play all popular audio file formats, including Windows Media Audio, MP3, .WAV and .AIFF.
