CALREC OMEGA
September 2007—Earlier this year, Calrec (www.calrec.com) unveiled Omega, a new mid-level console that uses the manufacturer's award-winning, FPGA-based Bluefin high-density signal processing technology. Omega features 160 mono DSP paths packaged as 48 stereo and 64 mono channels, and up to 24 full 5.1 surround channels — all with full EQ and dynamics. Available in 24/40/56-frame sizes, Omega with Bluefin's output complement includes eight 5.1 surround groups, 20 aux outs and 48 multitrack outs.

CALREC BLUEFIN TECHNOLOGY
September 2006—Calrec's Bluefin technology lets existing Alpha console owners upgrade from 226 to 480 (mono equivalent) channels simply by installing a couple of DSP cards. Bluefin also puts full EQ and dynamics on all channels, and can provide 78 full 5.1 surround sound channels, eight 5.1 groups with full EQ and dynamics, four main outputs, 48 multitrack outputs and 20 aux outputs.
CALREC ALPHA, SIGMA, ZETA UPGRADE
June 2005—English console maker Calrec (www.calrec.com) announced a system upgrade for Alpha, Sigma and Zeta 100 consoles called System Plus. It brings configurable TFT metering and 5.1 source input capability.
CALREC LCD METERING
November 2004—Calrec Audio launches new user-configurable LCD metering at AES in San Francisco. Available immediately across its digital range, Calrec's proprietary LCD metering has been designed to provide absolute configurability. In common with all Calrec operating software, LCD meters are independent of the PC. Totally configurable and capable of input and output metering, the system is also designed to provide graphic representations of EQ and dynamic levels.
CALREC HYDRA NETWORKING
April 2004—Calrec's Hydra audio network makes its NAB debut alongside a full complement of digital consoles in Las Vegas. Currently in use networking three Sigma 100 consoles at CNBC's global headquarters in Englewood, N.J., the Hydra is an advanced networking and mic preamp system that enables I/O resources to be shared throughout the range of Calrec digital consoles.

CALREC ZETA 100
April 2003—At NAB 2003, Calrec Audio unveils the new Zeta 100 digital production console and showcases its Alpha and Sigma 100 consoles. Based on proven system architecture, the Zeta 100 is the third console in Calrec’s program to provide complete digital solutions for a range of broadcast environments. Features include dynamics on every channel, eight auxes, 12 multitrack/IFB sends, 99 Flash ROM setup memories, powerful integrated internal routing and full 5.1 surround monitoring.
CALREC SIGMA 100
October 2002—The Calrec Audio Sigma 100 is the company's second all-digital television production console, based on the proven architecture used in the Alpha 100. All channels include 4-band EQ, separate filters, compressor/limiter/expander, surround and stereo panning, and mix-minus outputs. Other features include four surround main outputs, 12 auxes, 24 MT and eight groups, with 5.1 and stereo monitoring.
ALREC ALPHA 100 V. 1.4
October 2000—Calrec's Version 1.4 software for the Alpha 100 digital console builds on the Alpha-based production software launched at the Paris AES show in February, providing 48 multitrack/matrix outputs, 20 auxiliary buses, eight audio groups and four main outputs - each of which can simultaneously be Mono, Stereo or Surround. All desk functions are memorised to snap-shots and full system reset is achieved in less than 60 ms without audio interruption on this fifth-generation Calrec desk to feature an assignable digital control surface.
CALREC M3
November 1999—The M3 is a high-performance, high-quality console for applications where sound quality and rugged construction are required. Designed for remote production/live broadcast applications, the M3 has a choice of input module types, four auxes, direct output/mix-minus on each channel, up to four option-al groups and two main outputs. Channel and group slots are interchangeable, enabling more channels to be fitted in desks without groups.
CALREC ALPHA 100 M
June 1999—Remote-truck owners will want to check out Calrec's new Alpha 100 digital production board. The console has a maximum configuration of 96 stereo/48 mono channels with a two-layer design allowing channel path per fader or dual path arrangements. Other features: eight stereo or mono groups, four main outputs (configurable for 5.1, Lt-Rt or stereo), and mix-minus outputs per channel.
